Services
Consultations
The initial session is a consultation session and is 60 minutes. During this session, we will discuss the issues that you are struggling with and what you are looking for in terms of treatment. If the treatment that I can provide seems to be a good fit, we will schedule a follow-up session. In some cases, I may recommend a comprehensive evaluation before deciding on a specific treatment. This usually takes 1-2 additional individual sessions to complete diagnostic testing. You may choose to identify a significant other who knows you well to also provide additional information. Then we will meet for a feedback session (30-45 mins) to review the results.
Individual Therapy
Individual sessions are usually 45 minutes and can be scheduled once weekly or twice weekly depending on the severity of symptoms, and level of support needed. As needed, we can include family members in some of your sessions. I am also happy to coordinate care with other providers if you permit me to do so. Individual sessions can be in person or virtual. Virtual sessions take place via videoconferencing. I use a HIPAA-compliant Zoom platform. In order to participate in video-conferencing, you will need to be located in Rhode Island. You will also need to have device with a webcam (smartphone, tablet, or computer), a stable internet connection, and a quiet, private location to log in from.
Group Therapy
Group therapy sessions can be a useful addition to individual therapy as they provide an opportunity to talk to others with similar experiences or symptoms. It can also be a more cost-effective way of participating in treatments such as exposure and response prevention. Sign up for my newsletter if you would like to be notified about upcoming groups.
Home-based CBT
Home-based psychotherapy is useful when symptoms have not benefited from office-based therapy sessions and occur mostly in one’s home. I provide home visits to clients who live in Rhode Island.
Buried In Treasures Workshop for Hoarding
Buried in Treasures is a self-help book designed to help you implement cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) for hoarding. Twice per year, I facilitate a Buried in Treasures workshop which is a 16 week course. Sessions are held weekly for 2 hours and are open to individuals with clutter issues who are interested in learning more about hoarding. Please note that these workshops are NOT for family members, significant others, or treatment providers. Sessions will cover chapters from the book and participants will be expected to complete weekly exercises (about 1-2 hours in addition to reading the chapter and attending the class).
Buried In Treasures and Beyond
These workshop sessions are for participants who have completed the initial Buried in Treasures workshop and would like peer support to continue to work on their clutter issues. Participants enroll in a “Buried in Treasures” membership and receive email notifications when new workshops are offered throughout the year.

Some of the most common fears that can be effectively treated using this technology include: fears of driving, flying, heights, public speaking, taking tests, needles, blood, insects, animals.
